Healthy Strawberry Salad with Avocado & Feta

Healthy Strawberry Salad with Avocado & Feta Save

I used to think “healthy salads” meant forcing myself to eat plain spinach with a little dressing just to get it over with.

It never worked for long.

Then I started adding fruit into salads, and everything changed.

The first time I made this strawberry spinach salad, I honestly overdid it. I added too much dressing and it turned into a soggy mess by the time I sat down to eat it. Lesson learned: fruit salads need balance, not drowning.

What makes this one work is contrast. You’ve got sweet strawberries, creamy avocado, salty feta, crunchy nuts, and fresh spinach. Nothing is doing all the work alone—it’s all playing a role.

Here’s the thing: the strawberry balsamic vinaigrette is what makes people think you actually know what you’re doing in the kitchen. It’s just blended strawberries, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, and a little seasoning, but it turns a basic salad into something that feels intentional.

I usually toast the almonds and pistachios quickly in a dry pan. I skipped this once and the salad felt flat. That tiny step makes a bigger difference than it should.

The avocado is something I add right before serving. I learned the hard way that if you mix it too early, it gets mushy and disappears into the salad.

This is one of those salads I actually crave in summer. It’s light, but it doesn’t feel like rabbit food. I’ve even eaten it as a full meal when it’s too hot to cook anything else.
