Easy 4th of July Monster Cookies for a Crowd

Soft and chewy monster cookies loaded with oats, peanut butter, chocolate chips, and patriotic candies for the perfect summer party dessert.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup red white, and blue candy-coated chocolates
  • 1/4 cup patriotic sprinkles optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter, peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Mix in eggs and vanilla extract.
  4. Add baking soda, salt, flour, and oats. Mix until combined.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips and candy-coated chocolates.
  6. Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing cookies 2 inches apart.
  7. Press a few extra candies onto the tops of the cookies.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  9. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days. For thicker cookies, chill the dough for 20-30 minutes before baking. Avoid overbaking to keep the centers soft and chewy.
