Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 25 minutes
Total Time 40 minutes
Servings: 12 Brownies

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup Dutch-processed cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Equipment

  • Rich, fudgy homemade brownies with crackly tops and deep chocolate flavor, perfect for summer parties and 4th of July desserts.

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt butter and whisk it with sugar until slightly glossy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  5. Fold dry ingredients into wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Stir in chocolate chips, then spread batter into prepared pan.
  7. Bake for 22–28 minutes until edges are set but center is slightly soft.
  8. Cool completely before slicing into squares.

Notes

Do not overbake—slightly underdone center creates the fudgy texture. Let brownies cool fully before cutting or they will fall apart. Store in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
