Method
- Add all ingredients to a small saucepan and place over medium heat.
- Stir continuously until the sugar dissolves and the mixture becomes smooth.
- Bring to a gentle simmer, then reduce heat to low.
- Simmer for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally until slightly thickened.
- Taste and adjust sweetness or acidity if needed.
- Remove from heat and let cool before storing or serving.
Notes
Don’t rush the simmer time or the flavor stays too flat and ketchup-like. Adjust vinegar for tang or sugar for sweetness depending on taste. Stores well in the fridge for up to 2 weeks in a sealed jar.
